I love everything about this photo. Charcoal Donegal tweed trousers. Deep indigo shirtjac. 40's style kerchief. Classic menswear ribbed socks. And then those gorgeous oxblood monkstrap brogues. Too perfect.
I love the look of a girl in guy's shoes. And they are often so much more affordable AND better made. They look wonderful with pants as seen above but also with mid-length skirts and tights.
These monk straps are currently on sale for $139.95 down from $295. Not a bad deal for Italian-made shoes that should last a life-time.
Margaret Howell favors the gamine look and usually shows her women in some sort of shoes borrowed from the boys.
But what size? As a general rule you will need to size down 2 sizes, for example from a Women's 9 to a Men's size 7. This means that if you have smaller feet you will likely have trouble finding a pair to fit. Stay tuned for my post about BOY'S shoes.
